Every day more and more people are embracing an alcohol free lifestyle. At times, maintaining that lifestyle can be a challenge. Please join us for an ‘all recovery’ sober support meeting lead by Carla Ferrucci and Sarah Soucie. ‘All recovery’ meaning we will offer peer recovery support in an open format that does not adhere to a particular recovery model. All paths and journeys are welcome at this meeting.

Trial PAC contributors are welcome to join us for breakfast in the Wilson Bay Dining room. This years breakfast features a presentation from Professor of Political Science Timothy Lynch, from the University of St. Thomas. Tim Lynch is an assistant professor of political science at the University of St. Thomas. He regularly teaches courses on U.S. politics including U.S. Policymaking, Congress and the Presidency, and Campaigns and Elections. He also teaches Political Science Research Methods. His research interests include the U.S. Senate, the role of gender stereotypes in campaigns and elections, and national influences on state and local politics. This research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including American Politics Research, Congress & the Presidency, Politics & Gender, and State and Local Government Review.

 KEYNOTE LUNCHEON

      Justice Karl C. Procaccini

Justice Karl C. Procaccini grew up in Mystic, Connecticut. He graduated from Harvard College with his A.B., magna cum laude, in 2005. He then moved to Egypt, where he taught high school and earned his LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from The American University in Cairo. Justice Procaccini received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2010. Justice Procaccini began his legal career in Minnesota, clerking for Judge Diana E. Murphy of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and Chief Judge Michael J. Davis of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Until 2019, Justice Procaccini was a partner at the Minneapolis law firm Greene Espel PLLP, where his practice focused on civil litigation, investigations, and global compliance counseling.

After leaving private practice, Justice Procaccini served as General Counsel & Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of Governor Tim Walz & Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan. In recognition of his work on Minnesota’s response to COVID-19, he was named a 2020 Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer, and he received the 2021 Public Attorney Award of Excellence from the Public Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Before his appointment to the Minnesota Supreme Court, Justice Procaccini served as a visiting professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He has previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and William Mitchell College of Law.

Justice Procaccini is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a past chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s International Business Law Section. He also served as the executive board president and advisory board co-chair of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society. He and his wife, Dr. Nayla Hamdi, live in Minneapolis, and they enjoy music, theater, biking, and hiking throughout Minnesota.

CHILDCARE OPTIONS
The Adventure Cove at Madden's is scheduled to be open from 4 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on Friday for children ages 4 - 12 (must be completely potty trained).  This will include dinner and activities during our scheduled receptions and dinners. All children MUST be registered in advance. Registration for the Adventure Cove is part of the convention registration and must be added when registering. MAJ is currently working with Madden's regarding daycare options outside of these hours. Reservations can be made by calling 800-642-5363 and identifying yourself as being part of the Minnesota Association for Justice group.

A $200 deposit is required at time of reservation request. The balance will be charged upon checkout. You are responsible for your entire stay; early departures or reservations reduced in length are not refundable. Package payments are refundable, less a $25.00 cancellation fee if you cancel by June 27, 2024. Any cancellations made after June 27, 2024 will not receive a refund (replacements are gladly accepted). Reservations made after the deadline are non-refundable.
