At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to discuss:

  • * Who gets injured and why.
  • * How medical imaging is performed. The Physics of MRI and CT
  • * Different types of MRI machines available in the community. How to choose between a 1.5 T short bore, mobile, open sided or Upright scanner and what to tell your client.
  • * Understanding a medical report. What to look for in a study. Important findings that are present or absent.
  • * Define a herniation, protrusion, extrusion or bulge.
  • * Describe the types of pain management options (oral steroids / injectables – epidural, facet, etc) and what is appropriate for your client.
  • * Interesting case review
