Minnesota Association for Justice Membership Benefits
Membership in the Minnesota Association for Justice brings you into a committed group of trial lawyers dedicated to the rights of their clients, to the advancement of their profession, to fairness in the justice system and to the support of their peers. Membership services include: Legislative Advocacy Minnesota Association for Justice’s legislative services are the key to the existence of our profession and our ability to serve our clients. Minnesota Association for Justice has the only lobbyists committed to protecting the rights of all citizens and serving as the voice of consumers in the court and the legislature. The Minnesota Association for Justice political action committee (Trial-PAC) raises funds for political candidates who support your client’s concerns. Information Bank Minnesota Association for Justice's data bank includes trial and appellate briefs, medical and technical expert depositions, pleadings, jury instructions and educational articles and outlines. If the Information bank does not have the information you need, you can post a request to one of the MNAJ List-Servers. We also provide an extensive Expert Witness Bank - please contact Derek Lamparty for details. The Information Bank is available to Minnesota Association for Justice members only. Case Evaluation Clinics If you need advice on experts or trial strategies, Minnesota Association for Justice can set up a panel of three experienced trial lawyers to review your case and offer advice. For Greater Minnesota members, conference call case evaluations allow you to participate from your own office. For Minnesota Association for Justice members only. Mock Trials/Focus Groups If you wonder how a jury will react to your case, Minnesota Association for Justice's Mock Trial Program can provide insight. Attorneys test arguments, theories and witness credibility before a panel of six or 12 citizen jurors. In addition, mock trials provide clients with a realistic estimate of possible damages; and by talking with the jurors at the end of the program, you will discover your case's strengths and weaknesses. For Minnesota Association for Justice members only. Amicus Curiae Minnesota Association for Justice assists members by submitting briefs in support of issues before the Supreme Court. The organization will be involved in any case which presents an issue of statewide importance or one which is significant to other members. Educational Programs Minnesota Association for Justice's education programs offer the highest quality of legal education focusing on the issues that are most important to the development of your practice. Seminars are offered for all levels of experience in substantive areas and trial skills and frequent Brown Bags CLE programs are available for the lawyer unable to be away from the office for an entire day. Membership Communications As a member, you benefit from publications containing relevant and timely analysis of current legal issues and developments. The Minnesota Trial Lawyer magazine is published quarterly and the Minnesota Case Reports, Minnesota Association for Justice Newsletter and Update are published bi-monthly Publications Experienced attorneys in many fields have authored a series of Practitioner's Guides. Conventions and Meetings Minnesota Association for Justice's Annual Convention in Alexandria and the Mid-Winter Meeting in Duluth are rated by attendees as some of the finest educational programs available.
